A heating and cooling system that moves heat rather than generating it. In summer it works like an AC; in winter it extracts heat from outdoor air and moves it inside. Efficiency advantage: moves 3 BTUs of heat for every 1 BTU of electricity consumed. Works well in East Texas — freezing temps are rare enough that a backup strip heater handles exceptions.
