HERS Rating

Home Energy Rating System score — measures a home's energy efficiency on a scale where 100 = reference home, lower = more efficient. A new Texas home built to code rates around 55–65. A net-zero home rates 0. Each point below 100 represents about 1% less energy than the reference home. HERS ratings are used in real estate listings, loans (Energy Efficient Mortgages), and utility rebates.
