Resistance to airflow in your duct system, measured in inches of water column (IWC). High static pressure forces your blower to work harder, reducing efficiency and causing premature failure. Proper static pressure: under 0.5 IWC for most residential systems. Undersized ducts, dirty filters, and blocked returns are common culprits in older East Texas homes.
